Set the score for
In an individual game, all players buzz and score for themselves. In a team game, the host may assign players to teams.
When set to 1, each player may only buzz once until the host resets the buzzer (i.e. once per question). In a team game, each team may only buzz once with this setting. When set to infinite, players/teams may buzz multiple times.
When a player buzzes, the buzzer locks for the number of seconds specified by this setting (or until the host unlocks it), during which no other player may buzz in. This setting may be used, for example, if you wish to give players a predetermined amount of time to answer after buzzing in. If set to 0, the buzzer will not unlock automatically and the host must manually unlock the buzzer before any other player may buzz in.
When the host starts this countdown, the buzzer remains active (and players may buzz if not locked out) for the number of seconds specified by this setting. This setting may be used, for example, if you wish to give players a predetermined amount of time to buzz in after you finish reading a question. If set to 0, the buzzer will not lock automatically and the host may manually lock the buzzers on a stumper question.
These are optional. You may have up to 4 score shortcut buttons. Clicking on one of them will add (or subtract) points from the player/team who last buzzed in, and reactivate the buzzer. During the game, a player or team's score may also be edited manually by locking the buzzer, clicking on the player/team, and clicking "Set" or a score shortcut button to adjust by that amount.
You may have up to 4 teams and 16 total players in a game. The default names are Team 1, Team 2, etc., but this may be changed by clicking on the team names in the table headers after creating a game.
You may assign teams by clicking in the appropriate column for each player that joins the game.
The host may lock or unlock the buzzer at any time. When the buzzer is locked, no player may buzz in, and the host may manually set scores as needed. Additionally, if any individual or team is locked out due to having buzzed already, that status is maintained when the host locks/unlocks the buzzer. This is useful if the host makes a mistake and needs to fix the scores.
This resets the buzzer state. The buzzer is unlocked and becomes live, and any player is eligible to buzz in when the buzzer is reset.
This starts a countdown before the buzzer is locked. Players and host are able to see this countdown occur. This feature is useful if the host wishes to give players a limited amount of time to buzz in after the question is done being read.
This feature is only available if the buzzer is locked using the "Lock" button. To use this feature, lock the buzzer, select a team or individual by clicking them, and specify the score that they should have. This is useful if the host makes a mistake and needs to fix the score.
The whole point of this app! Players may buzz in by clicking the button or by pressing spacebar. When a player buzzes, all other players are locked out. There is also a small level of lag mitigation built into the app, so, at least in theory, a slow connection should not prevent anyone from playing.
